DA: Too much info released on Pittsburgh sisters’ deaths

PITTSBURGH (AP) – A Western Pennsylvania prosecutor is criticizing Pittsburgh officials for release of what he calls “entirely too much information” about the murders of two sisters of an Iowa state lawmaker.
Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala Jr. said Wednesday that “There’s no upside to telling a murderer before he’s apprehended everything you know.”
Mayor Bill Peduto told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that if the district attorney is concerned about leaks, he should reach out so an internal investigation could be started. He said both he and Zappala are committed to protecting the community.
Forty-three-year-old Allen Wade was charged earlier this month with homicide and robbery in the deaths of Sarah and Susan Wolfe, who were found shot to death Feb. 7. They are sisters of Democratic Rep. Mary Wolfe, of Clinton.
