An unoccupied home in Burgettstown was destroyed by fire after 8:30 p.m. Friday, according to the chief of borough’s volunteer fire department.

The blaze, at 55 Patterson St., started in the garage and spread to the rest of the house, said Chief Jerry McClain.

The house was destroyed. There were no injuries. The cause is still under investigation, McClain said.

Fire departments from Midway, Slovan, Hanover and Jefferson also responded to the fire.
