MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – West Virginia University is seeking a ticket sales company to sell unsold game tickets.

WVU’s athletic department is seeking requests for proposals from companies that could sell unsold tickets to potential buyers, including individuals and groups.

The university wants to collect revenue by selling tickets that might otherwise go unsold.

The winning firm would handle sales for football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, baseball and volleyball.

The Daily Mail reports that professional sports organizations often hire contractors that specialize in excess ticket sales, but the practice is less common on the collegiate level.

IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions and The Aspire Group each count more than 20 collegiate athletic programs among their clients.
