Route 18 work to begin

Intermittent single lane restrictions will occur along Route 18 between Cross Creek Road in Smith Township and Bridge Street in Burgettstown, beginning April 7, the state Department of Transportation said.
The day and night restrictions will will continue to mid-June to allow crews to perform base repair, guide rail placement, signal upgrades, milling and resurfacing of the road.
The work is being performed by A. Folino of Oakmont at a project cost of $1.5 million.
