The Chartiers Township solicitor filed a complaint in Washington County Court asking that a judge order owners of land at 8 Crossroads Road to clean up trash and abandoned vehicles.

Named as defendants were Ruth L. and William E. Moore. Chartiers solicitor James P. Liekar said their single-family home is in disrepair, and that, coupled with the junk, constitutes a nuisance and “endangers the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of Chartiers Township.”

If the property owners do not remove the alleged nuisance, Liekar asked the court to grant the township the authority to remove it and assess the costs to the property owners. He also asked that the Moores be ordered to pay the costs of the proceeding.
