The 5-year-old daughter of a former Chartiers Township man has been listed as being among the casualties of the March 22 mudslide in Washington state, while her father and two siblings remained missing.

The Seattle Times reported Thursday night the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office had confirmed the death of Kaylee B. Spillers of Arlington, Wash., and ruled she died of blunt force impact.

Local friends of her father, Billy Spillers, are planning to hold a candlelight vigil for him and his family today at 8 p.m. at Chartiers-Houston High School’s football stadium, where the 2001 graduate once played as an all-conference defensive end.

Billy Spillers’ 4-year-old son, Jacob, was saved in a dramatic helicopter rescue the day of the disaster in Oso. His mother, Jonielle, was working at the time, and two other Spillers siblings, Brooke, 2, and Jovan, 13, remained missing.
