HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) – A suspect in the shooting of six people at a Huntington housing complex has pleaded guilty to federal charges of being a convicted felon in possession of firearms and for selling heroin.
Thirty-one-year-old Antonio Michael Smith entered the plea Monday in federal court in Huntington.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says Smith used two guns to shoot six people during an altercation among a group of people at the Northcott Court complex last September.
All six victims were shot in the lower extremities. None of the injuries were life-threatening.
Goodwin says the heroin charge relates to a sale that took place in Huntington in February 2013.
Smith also faces state charges of wanton endangerment and malicious wounding in the shootings.
