Lions Club honors area students
WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Central High School seniors Kerilyn Wilkins and Corey Dispenza were selected by the high school faculty as Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for May.
Wilkins, daughter of Krista Wilkins of Mt. Morris and James Wilkins of Fredericktown, maintains a 3.88 grade-point average.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, SADD, alpha beta, principal’s council and varsity club. She is a four-year letterman in basketball, received the community service award through the Challenge Program Inc., and was named the Centennial Chevrolet winter scholar athlete.
Outside of school, she works as a cashier at Giant Eagle and does baby-sitting.
Wilkins plans to attend West Virginia University and major in occupational therapy.
Dispenza, son of Mary Ann and Robert Dispenza of Waynesburg, maintains a 3.9 grade-point average.
He is a member of the National Honor Society, yearbook and newspapers staffs, library service and varsity club. He also participated on the high school’s basketball team and was named a winter scholar athlete.
Outside of school, he coaches youth basketball and is employed at Digital Sight Maintenance.
Dispenza plans to attend Slippery Rock University and is undecided on a major.
