Three people were arrested by Monongahela police Saturday night following a traffic stop on West Main Street after an officer said he saw a man he had been watching for suspected drug activity get into the vehicle.
Arrested were Kendall Lamar Dupree, 37, of 180 Morton St., and Eric Adonis Hill, 35, and Jessica Jean Larose, 24, both of 444 Chestnut St., Monessen.
Police said they had Dupree under surveillance for possible drug activity when they saw him talking with Larose and Hill before getting into her car when he saw police. When police stopped the car for expired registration, the officer said he could see Dupree moving around inside the vehicle.
When police asked for identification, Dupree reportedly gave his name as James Dawson. When asked why he gave a false name, he told police that he had traffic warrants. Police said they found a large wad of money and paper used to wrap bricks of heroin in Dupree’s pocket.
Police said Larose allowed officers to search her car, and they found a soft drink can in a compartment in the driver’s door that contained empty stamp bags of suspected heroin.
During a further search of Dupree, police said they found three bundles and one brick of suspected heroin hidden in the crotch of his shorts. Police said there were 80 stamp bags in the packages.
Dupree was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of paraphernalia, conspiracy, obstructing administration of law and false identification. He was released from Washington County jail Sunday morning after posting $50,000 bond.
Hill and Larose were arraigned before Havelka on charges of conspiracy and possession of paraphernalia. Larose, who also was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, was released from jail Sunday after posting $10,000. Hill remained in jail Monday on $20,000 bond.
