Vehicle, house damaged by gunfire in Washington
A pickup truck and house were damaged by as many as two rounds fired from a shotgun Monday night in Washington.
Washington police said the truck appeared to be the shooter’s target outside the Aaron and Jessica Klinzing residence at 400 East Maiden Street.
Aaron Klinzing said Tuesday it appeared as if there were as many as four holes in the house caused by the gunfire, including one that struck the second-floor bedroom where his young son typically sleeps. The boy, however, was in another room sleeping at the time, his mother said.
“My son could have been killed,” Jessica Klinzing said, holding back tears outside her residence Tuesday.
Aaron Klinzing said the gunfire damaged the driver’s side of the truck bed in two places, put a hole in the windshield and shot out the passenger side window.
He said it will cost him $1,000 to repair the damage to the vehicle.
Police said two shells were recovered at the scene, and it appeared one pellet ricocheted off the truck and struck the house.
Police said they have suspects in the case.
