A Somerset County man, an inmate at SCI-Greene Community Corrections Center who escaped May 3 while leaving Southwest Regional Medical Center, was apprehended just before noon Wednesday by Somerset Borough police.

Chad Adam Flick, 26, was in a section of the maximum security prison that houses nonviolent offenders, when he ran away from a security officer and fled into a wooded area north of the hospital in Franklin Township.

State parole officials were en route to the Somerset Borough Police Department to take Flick into custody. No information was immediately available as to how Flick made his way from Waynesburg to Somerset.

But a spokesman for the state parole board said Flick will be taken to SCI-Somerset. It was not known if Flick will be transferred back to Greene County.
