KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (AP) — A Chicago-bound freight train has reportedly struck and killed two people in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Montgomery County emergency dispatchers said Saturday that they received a report that a Norfolk Southern train had struck and killed two pedestrians.
Dispatchers say Valley Forge park rangers were investigating, but park rangers didn’t immediately respond to a telephone message.
Norfolk Southern spokesman Dave Pidgeon says the westbound train struck the pedestrians around 7:30 a.m.
Pidgeon says he doesn’t know their condition. He says the train’s two crew members weren’t hurt.
