UPMC for Life to host national senior health and fitness day

UPMC for Life will host an event for national Senior Health and Fitness Day Wednesday at Consol Energy Park in North Franklin Township.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. and is open to anyone 65 and older. Activities will include Zumba demonstrations, brain fitness exercises, walks and free preventive services.
Visitors also can learn about the new health and wellness program, Fit for Life. This program reimburses UPMC for Life members for a portion of the cost of a membership at any local fitness facility.
This is the eighth year that UPMC for Life has sponsored the program.
Consol Energy Park is home to the Washington Wild Things baseball team, and is located at 1 Washington Federal Way.
Wednesday is the 21st annual national Senior Health and Fitness Day. The event is designed to promote the importance of regular physical activity and to showcase what local organizations are doing to improve the health and fitness of older adults in their communities.
