Trees, wires down

Crews are responding to several trees and wires that were brought down on Washington County roads during a heavy thunderstorm Tuesday afternoon.

A 911 supervisor said about 4:30 p.m. that trees were blocking Churchill Road in Peters Township, Wilson Avenue in Cecil Township and Phillips Road in Smith Township. Wires also were damaged along Steubenville Pike in Amwell Township.

Peters and Cecil townships appeared to bear the brunt of damage.
