Bethlehem-Center to graduate 96
Bethlehem-Center High School will graduate 96 students at commencement ceremonies at 7 p.m. Friday at the district stadium. In the event of rain, the event will be held in the high school auditorium.
Valedictorian is McKenna Lohr and salutatorian is Elizabeth Paul. Both students will speak at graduation.
Lohr is a daughter of Jody and Joelle Lohr of Scenery Hill. She was captain of the Academic League team, the girls’ varsity soccer team and the track and field team. She participated in National Honor Society, the Leo Club, Film Club, Science Club, Show Choir, newspaper staff, Relay for Life and the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science.
She received the Charleroi Academic League top scholar award and was a scholarship recipient. She also received the Helen Harkins and Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh scholarships and was a California Rotary Club Student of the Month.
She plans to attend Duquesne University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s in forensic science and law.
Paul is a daughter of Ron and Miryam Paul of Brownsville. She was captain of the varsity volleyball team, president of National Honor Society, student council and Leo Club, vice president of the Science Club and treasurer of Youth Traffic Safety Council. She also participated in marching and concert band, track and field, Spanish Club, iClub, Show Choir, Academic League and the GEAR program.
She received the DAR Good Citizens Award, Amelia Earhart Award, Challenge Program Community Service Award, House of Representatives Leaders of Tomorrow Award, Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award, Lions Young Leaders in Service Award and Centennial Chevrolet Scholar Athlete Award, and was a Rotary Student of the Month.
She plans to attend Brigham Young University to major in exercise science.
