A Donora woman was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly tried to stab her boyfriend during a confrontation in their home.

Anita Towler Burton, 54, of 347 Market St., Donora, reportedly had a large kitchen knife that she was waving as she approached James Maletta. His shirt was ripped during the confrontation, according to Donora police.

Police said the two got into an argument, and that Burton reportedly became irate and slapped him in the face before picking up the knife. Maletta reportedly picked up a stool to protect himself until he was able to disarm Burton.

Police also allege that Burton threatened to kill Maletta. She told police that he slapped her when she told him that she wanted him out of her house.

Burton was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and reckless endangerment. She was released on $25,000 unsecured bond.
