LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania woman who dressed like a police officer for Halloween wound up in handcuffs when real officers say they found her drunk and asleep inside a running vehicle.

Officers charged Cynthia Sweigart with driving under the influence of alcohol early Saturday after tests showed she had a blood-alcohol level of .17 percent.

That’s more than twice the state’s legal limit.

Police say the 40-year-old Sweigart parked her SUV in the middle of a street and played loud music as she slept. Police say it took several minutes to wake her.

Police say Sweigart claimed she had gotten lost on the way home from a party.

West Hempfield police Sgt. Russell Geier says her costume wasn’t entirely authentic.

“We don’t wear skirts and fishnet stockings,” he says.
