Assault arrest: Brent A. Burnsworth, 37, of 1350 Donnan Ave., Washington, was arrested Sunday night by Canonsburg police on charges of simple assault, harassment, resisting arrest, driving under suspension and disorderly conduct following a dispute with his sister, Charity Burnsworth, at 30 ½ W. Pike St. He is accused of striking her in the face several times. He was in a vehicle when police arrived and allegedly was argumentative with police and struggled with officers as they tried to take him into custody. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $3,000 bond.

House burglarized: Thomas Rydle told Canonsburg police Friday that a house at 118 Belmont Ave. was burglarized. The door was kicked in, but it was not clear if items were stolen.

Charged in assault: Andrew C. Krupinski, 33, of 2048 Pleasant Grove Road, East Finley, was arrested Sunday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of punching Amanda Krupinski and shoving her. She was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released with orders not to have any contact with the alleged victim.

Money stolen: Ericka L. Rivers of Niles, Ohio, told North Strabane police that her money was stolen from her wallet Sunday while it was in her room at the Super 8 Motel, 8 Curry Ave.

Counterfeit money: North Strabane police said a counterfeit $20 bill was passed Sunday at The Meadows Casino, Racetrack Road.

Retail theft: Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole merchandise from Rite Aid, 4185 Washington Road, then fled in a silver vehicle. The incident was reported at 11:28 a.m. Sunday. The man is white, in his 20s, with scruffy facial hair and a thin build, police said. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt. When a customer of Rite Aid yelled there was a shoplifter, police said the man ran out the front door and activated the anti-theft sensors. An inventory is being conducted to determine what is missing.

Escapee caught: William Henry Prowitt, 40, of Pittsburgh, was taken into custody early Monday on a warrant on a charge of escape after he reportedly was assaulted in Smith. Prowitt was wanted for failing to return to a halfway house July 4. Prowitt, who was taken to Washington Hospital for his injuries, was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail without bond. He was transferred later Monday to Allegheny County jail.

Two arrested: Demetrius Ronald MacCannon, 44, of Maple Heights, Ohio, and John Lewis Smith, 34, of Cleveland, Ohio, were arrested Saturday afternoon by South Strabane police for allegedly passing counterfeit money at stores in the township, including Target and Lowe’s, both at Strabane Square, and Wal-Mart in Trinity Point. Both men were arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of forgery, theft by deception and conspiracy. They were placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bonds.

Retail theft charge: Christopher M. Dolan, 28, of 664 Western Ave., Chartiers Township, was charged Friday by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing items earlier in the week from Wal-Mart, Trinity Point. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Mischief charge: Raymond Downey, 31, of Pittsburgh, was charged Friday by South Strabane police with criminal mischief for allegedly using a hammer to do $1,958 in damage to an automated-teller machine at PNC Bank, 319 Washington Road, Oct. 9. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

False report, alarm charges: Lisa Ann Daniels, 48, of 746 Broad St., Washington, was charged Wednesday by South Strabane police with false alarms, false reports and disorderly conduct stemming from a Sept. 13 incident at the Trio Lounge, 1694 N. Main St. She is accused of calling 911 to falsely report a person was stabbed and people were shooting each other outside the bar. Police arrived and learned it did not happen. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Liquor violation alleged: The operator of Six-Pack Charlie’s, 501 Jefferson Ave., was cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Enforcement for allegedly selling alcohol to a 19-year-old Sept. 22.

Theft charge: Christopher Don Bradley, 28, of 208 Duquesne Ave., Canonsburg, was charged by North Franklin police with theft for allegedly stealing a Shop-Vac and extension ladder from a residence in the 1000 block of South Main Street Sept. 22. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Thefts from vehicles: Two separate thefts were reported by the owners of vehicles parked in the Alpine Parking Lot at 735 Jefferson Ave. between 5:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 23. Wallets were stolen from both vehicles, which were unlocked.

Disorderly conduct charge: Edward Toth, 51, of 984 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was cited by city police with public intoxication and disorderly conduct for allegedly being highly intoxicated and kissing a mentally disabled woman who was bagging groceries at the Shop ‘n Save on Jefferson Avenue Oct. 23. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Stolen property charge: Brandon J. Miller, 38, of 498 Locust Ave., Washington, was charged by city police with receiving stolen property for allegedly selling various stolen construction items and tools to a local pawn shop Friday. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Burglary: Heather Stewart of Victoria Street reported to city police two television sets were stolen from an apartment she was in the process of moving into Friday. Police said a rear door had been kicked open.

Missing teens: Two teenagers were reported missing by their mothers Friday. Missing were Sean Clark, 16, of the 400 block of Allison Avenue, who is white, 5-foot-5, 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes; and Noah Scholato, 16, of the 1300 block of Allison Avenue, who is white, 5-foot-6, 185 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. It was unclear if the two teenagers knew each other. Clark’s mother, Amanda Clark, said she last saw him before he left for Faith Christian School about 7 a.m. Friday. Scholato’s mother, Renee, said he left home Friday night and said he was going to a friend’s house and wouldn’t be home until Wednesday.
