PITTSBURGH (AP) — A world-renowned pathologist says it’s impossible to tell whether a Pittsburgh doctor was poisoned by her husband.

Dr. Cyril Wecht (WEKT) says that’s because of conflicting blood test results and evidence Dr. Autumn Klein’s death could have been due to another cause, specifically a heart problem.

Wecht (sp) is expected to be the last witness called by 66-year-old Dr. Robert Ferrante’s attorneys.

Allegheny County prosecutors have charged Ferrante with homicide because they say he laced Klein’s energy drink with a fatal dose of cyanide last year.

Klein was just 41. Wecht says his review of the evidence suggests no definitive explanation for her death.

Wecht has consulted on the deaths of JonBenet Ramsey and Elvis Presley. He gained fame as a critic of the Warren Commission’s Kennedy assassination report.
