WAYNESBURG – The Greene County sheriff’s office hosted an active shooter training session Nov. 1 at the Greene County Courthouse.

Instructors from the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Pennsylvania provided the free training to Greene County deputies and local area law enforcement. The training was part of an initiative created to better train and equip sheriff’s deputies to respond to active threats inside the courthouse and throughout the county, including schools, county buildings and local businesses.

The training included classroom instruction and practical exercises. Topics covered included preparation, policy and response to various realistic threats deputies and other law enforcement might encounter in their daily duties.
