House burglarized: Charles Bosang of 422 Blaine Ave. told Canonsburg police Tuesday three containers of coins were stolen from his dresser when his residence was burglarized. Also stolen were a bottle of prescription medication and a Playstation 2. It appears the burglar may have entered through a front window.

Teen charged: Grayling M. Fisher, 18, of 643 Linnwood Road, North Strabane, was charged Wednesday by North Strabane police with driving under the influence of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and minor not to possess or transport alcohol. Fisher was stopped early Oct. 6 on Route 519 at Route 19 for a traffic violation. Police said they found parapernalia and two bottles of beer in the vehicle. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

DUI charge: Brian S. Matthews, 45, of 6040A Route 88, Finleyville, was charged Wednesday by North Strabane police with DUI, speeding, careless driving and failure to stay in his lane stemming from a traffic stop early Sunday in the 2500 block of Washington Road. Police said they clocked him going 80 mph in a 45-mph zone while his vehicle was straddling the right and left lanes. His blood-alcohol content was higher than the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Vandalism: A mailbox was allegedly blown up outside a residence in the 300 block of Greenfield Drive about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Peters Township police said.

Criminal trespass: A motorcycle was taken from a garage in the 300 block of Springdale Road, ridden, then returned to the garage with body damage and a flat tire, the owner told township police Tuesday.

Theft from vehicle: A man reported to township police Tuesday a tablet computer was stolen from his vehicle parked at a gas station on East McMurray Road. The tablet was tracked to a McDonald’s in Morgantown, W.Va., but the suspect and the tablet were not found.

Thef reported: A resident in the 900 block of Bebout Road reported to police Wedneday his wheel barrow and rake were stolen after a brown Chevy pickup truck stopped briefly at the end of his driveway.

DUI charge: A Peters Township police officer pulled over Brian Lee Fodar, 29, of Strabane, as he was driving along East McMurray Road around 12:30 a.m. Thursday after he was observed going through a red light. Fodar pulled on top a curb, police said, and when backup arrived, he was found unconscious behind the wheel. He is to be charged with drug possession, intent to deliver and DUI after stamp bags suspected to have contained heroin were found inside his vehicle.

Driver hospitalized: Gary Staley, 52, of Eighty Four, was taken to UPMC-Mercy hospital in Pittsburgh after he apparently suffered a medical condition that caused him to crash off Matthews Spur, Somerset, about 6 a.m. Wednesday. State police said his vehicle went off the road, down a hill and hit a tree.

Two arrested: Brittny D. Shandor, 24, and James Howard, 26, both of 76 Seik Road, Washington, were arrested early Wednesday by South Strabane police after they allegedly removed a vacuum cleaner from the shelf at Wal-Mart, Trinity Point, and then took it to customer service in exchange for a $238 gift card. They were arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of theft by deception, retail theft and conspiracy and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bonds.

Retail theft charge: Delva Carey, 51, of Duquesne, was arraigned Thursday on a warrant on a charge of retail theft stemming from a July 12, 2013, incident at CVS, 175 W. Beau St. Washington police said she tried to steal a bottle of vitamins. She was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Man cited for harassment: Alfonso Martinez, 30, of 82 Acheson Ave., Washington, was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct after city police said he pushed and struck his wife in their home about 8 p.m. Sunday.
