A sport utility vehicle collided with a school van transporting Canon-McMillan School District students on state Route 519 about 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The three students were transported to Canonsburg Hospital for evaluation and were released, North Strabane Township police said.

No serious injuries were reported.

A monitor was also riding in the van.

It is unknown if any adults were taken to the hospital, and details of the accident were not available Thursday night.

Canon-McMillan Superintendent Michael Daniels said parents were contacted as soon as the accident occurred and met the elementary and intermediate school-aged students at the hospital.

He said both vehicles appeared to be heavily damaged.

“Our kids are OK, everyone seems to be all right, and I’m not worried about anything else right now,” said Daniels.
