The next monthly support group meeting for friends and relatives of those who suffer from substance abuse of any kind will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of Jefferson Baptist Church, 179 Pine Street in Jefferson. This is a gathering where friends and relatives who are struggling with how to deal with their loved ones’ addictions can share experiences. Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will shut off the water from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday on Cherry and Fruit alleys in Waynesburg to upgrade the system. Customers may experience low pressure or no water and are advised to keep some containers of water to minimize the outage.

A square dance, also line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more, will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 14 at Rogersville fire hall. Caller will be Dave Dahl. Cost is $5 per person or $8 per couple. Food and drinks will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event benefits the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. For more information, call 724-499-5385.

The Waynesburg University music program will host its second Chamber Works concert of the semester at noon Nov. 20 in the Marsh Center in Roberts Chapel. Admission is free and the public is invited. This series of lunchtime concerts will include performances by the Beauty and Barber Shop Ensembles, the Chamber Strings Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and the University Pipe and Drum Band.
