J-M student of the month honored
JEFFERSON – Hannah Kozich, a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School, was honored by Clarksville Area Lions Club as student of the month for November.
Kozich, daughter of daughter of Lee and Heather Kozich of Rices Landing, maintains a 4.083 grade-point average.
She is a member of Leo club, National Honor Society, student council, foreign language club and Big Brothers Big Sisters. She is a two-time academic letterman and was awarded the George Eastman Young Leaders Award from the University of Rochester.
Kozich dedicates much of her time to community service. She rings bells for the Salvation Army, participates in the Catholic Charities Angel Tree project, volunteers at Greene County Humane Society, and participates in Adopt-A-Highway roadside cleanup. She has volunteered time at Rices Landing Fire Department.
In the fall, she plans to attend California University of Pennsylvania to earn a degree in secondary education focusing on English literature. During her studies, she would also like to gain English-as-a-second language certification.
