• Date: Nov. 6

• Action: The commissioners noted the Washington County Hospital Authority approved the authority’s grants of $25,000 to the Washington County Health Center for a canopy; $15,000 to the Washington Health System Foundation for the first phase of a security upgrade; and $15,000 so Canonsburg Hospital can purchase a transport van for the disabled instead of a new ambulance.

The commissioners OK’d the payment of invoices totaling $10,503 to Lane Construction Corp. for asphalt used by Cross Creek Township to pave Clark Avenue after the replacement of the Cross Creek No. 32 bridge. The county will use money from the Local Share Account of gambling proceeds from The Meadows Casino and from the state’s Act 13 Impact Fee on unconventional gas wells.

The commissioners chose Knollwood Energy LLC as the broker to sell credit for excess power generated by solar panels on a shelter at Cross Creek County Park. Knollwood will retain $5 per credit.

The commissioners, who also serve as the county’s election board, approved the purchase of a $5,500 organizational software package and 40 hours of training from REI Systems of Sterling, Va., to manage various aspects of duties, personnel and databases for poll workers at the precinct level.

The board will sign a five-year lease with Kwik Stop Inc. for offices for District Judge Gary Havelka, with two five-year options at $12 and $13 per square foot of space. The lease is effective Jan. 1, 2015, through December 31, 2019, at the rate of $1,375 per month, including utilities and cleaning service.

• Appointment: Mark Giovanelli, Southwest Corner Workforce Investment Board; reappointments to the same board were Linda Andrews, Robert Bazant, Loretta Castana, Sue Conrady, Tom Graney, Mark Hrutkay, Dr. Randy Rodriguez, William Sember and John Swiatek, all through Aug. 31, 2016.

• Announcement: All county offices will be closed Tuesday for Veterans Day.

• Next meeting: 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the public meeting room of the Courthouse Square office building.
