West Chestnut Street near Washington Street in Washington has reopened after it was shut down because of an early morning transformer fire.
The street had to be closed for several hours after a transformer caught fire about 5:45 a.m. today.
Washington Street will remain closed while utility crews reset the pole. City fire Chief Linn Brookman said it is hoped that the work can be completed without disrupting power to nearby residents.
