Theft: A manager with Unique Gifts, 19 Mayview Road, Lawrence, reported to township police at 1:44 p.m. Monday $800 worth of steel shelving was stolen from the rear of the business.
Deer hit: Paula Kennedy of Washington escaped injury Monday morning when she swerved to avoid a deer on Ryburn Road and hit a tree, Chartiers police said.
Vehicle vandalized: Kenneth Wright of Marianna told state police Nov. 3 wires were pulled from underneath his vehicle while it was parked in an alley behind Fourth Street.
Garage hit: Joshua Beard, 19, of Scenery Hill, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after his pickup truck crashed into a garage at 221 Urquhart Road, North Bethlehem. State police said he drove too fast around a curve. The truck went off the road, through a yard, slid down an embankment and hit the garage, damaging it.
Theft charges: Melissa Lynn Eakin, 49, of 29 Broad St., Marianna, was charged last week by North Franklin police with four counts of retail theft. She is accused of stealing electronic items and tools from Sears, Washington Crown Center, on four occasions in September. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Shotgun confiscated: North Franklin police confiscated a shotgun for safekeeping after getting a report a man pointed it at another man early Monday. When police arrived at the Ramada Inn, 1170 W. Chestnut St., they were told Joseph B. Wallace, 25, of Keithville, La., pointed the shotgun at Aaron Gold while the two were at Jill’s Gentleman’s Club, Dallas Pike, W.Va. Police said both men were intoxicated. Gold was told to notify Ohio County (W.Va.) sheriff’s deputies.
Criminal mischief: A resident in the 100 block of Trenton Circle reported to police at 11:30 a.m. Monday his pumpkins were found smashed in the road and his mailbox post was split.
Assault charge: Keith E. King, 23, of 930 Oak St., Marianna, will be charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly threatened staff at Washington Hospital emergency room Monday afternoon. He was admitted to the hospital and will be charged when he is released, Washington police said.
Card stolen: Charlie Phillips of 695 Ewing St. told Washington police Monday his debit card was stolen and used to withdraw $200 from a machine at a convenience store.
Copper stolen: Brenda Snyder of Canonsburg told Washington police Monday copper pipes were stolen from a house in the 300 block of Locust Avenue.
House burglarized: George Kott Jr. of 137 Burnsville Ridge Road, West Finley, told state police Nov. 6 his house was burglarized. The burglar allegedly entered through an unlocked window. There was no indication on the report as to what was stolen.
