Two North Charleroi residents were arrested Tuesday by Charleroi Regional police after five bricks of suspected heroin were found in their North Charleroi apartment.

Lashawn Pierre Davis, 26, and Christina Dourlain, 19, both of 712 Monongahela Ave., were arrested after police served a search warrant at their apartment. Charges against Lillian Butler, 51, also of 712 Monongahela, will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Larry Hopkins.

Police were initially called to the apartment for a report of a woman “not acting right.” Ambulance personnel asked for police assistance on the call.

When police arrived, Davis became unruly and demanded to know why they responded and not the ambulance. It was also determined Dourlain needed an ambulance for medical reasons.

Officer David Kimball could see what appeared to be a marijuana grinder on a table behind the couch where Davis was sitting. When the officer walked over to the table, Davis tried to stop him. The officer indicated there was marijuana residue on the grinder.

When police asked Davis for consent to search the apartment, he refused. Police told him they would obtain a warrant.

After returning to the apartment with a search warrant signed by District Judge Robert Redlinger, police searched the residence and found five bricks of suspected heroin wrapped in magazine paper in a kitchen cabinet. One of the stamp bags was field-tested as positive for heroin.

Dourlain was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment before she was taken for arraignment.

Davis and Dourlain were arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of marijuana. They were each placed in Washington County jail on $15,000 bond. Butler will be arraigned on the same charges at a later date. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 8 before Hopkins.
