Firefighters from three departments responded Thursday morning when an abandoned home caught fire in the 10 block of Meldon Avenue in Donora.

Donora fire Chief Patsy Vince said the call came in at 2:05 a.m. He believes a police officer on patrol smelled smoke about the same time it was reported by a neighbor. Crews cleared the scene just before 7 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Assisting at the scene were firefighters from Carroll Township and Monessen.
