Warrant arrest: Kenneth S. Lewis, 47, of 291 E. Prospect Ave., Washington, was arrested Wednesday by township police on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop in Southpointe. Lewis, who was a passenger in the vehicle, is wanted in Colorado for vehicle theft, police said. Lewis was placed in Washington County jail for 30 days pending extradition to Colorado.

Drug arrest : Edwin Albert Younkin, 50, of 711 Washington Ave., Charleroi, was arrested Wednesday by Charleroi Regional police on charges of possession of heroin and paraphernalia. Police went to 1026 Fallowfield Ave., to serve a bench warrant on Younkin. He was found hiding behind a pile of clothes in a closet. The suspected drugs and paraphernalia also were found in the residence. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

One injured: Lori Weese, 43, of Jefferson Hills, was slightly injured Wednesday when her vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Phyllis Spinnenweber, 66, of Canonsburg, on Weavertown Road near the ramps to Interstate 79. North Strabane police said Spinnenweber’s foot may have slipped off the brake pedal and on to the gas pedal.

Police car hit: South Strabane police said a 29-year-old Eighty Four woman came to their station Wednesday afternoon to give an officer information regarding a hit and run crash she was involved in Saturday in the parking lot of Trinity Point. As she was leaving, she reportedly backed into one of their cruisers that was parked in the police station lot.

Highway accident: Traffic was delayed on I-79 South past the Meadowlands exit around 1:50 p.m. Thursday after a tractor-trailer ran a vehicle off the road, according to the South Strabane Volunteer Fire Department. Two women were inside the car. No injuries were reported.

Warrant arrest: Danielle Melanson, 20, of Rochester, formerly of Canonsburg, was taken into custody Wednesday by a Washington County sheriff’s deputy after it was discovered she was wanted on a warrant in Beaver County. She went to the booking center adjacent to the Washington County Courthouse to be fingerprinted on other charges. When her record was checked, it was discovered she was wanted on charges including access device fraud pending from a July 3 incident in Hopewell Township. She was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson as a fugitive and placed in Washington County jail without bond pending transfer to Beaver County.

Two jailed for assault: Alexis Chantal Sherman, 22, of 197 Jollick Manor, Washington, and James Raymond Sickles IV, 18, of 10 Ten Mile Road, Clarksville, were arraigned Thursday by District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of simple assault stemming from an incident at 1:20 p.m. Thursday. City police said Sherman and Sickles repeatedly punched Kyle Caldwell as he was helping his mother walk to her Jollick Manor apartment. Both are in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.

Debit card stolen: Charlotte Ward-Williams told city police her debit card was stolen, and $654 of fraudulent charges were made. She told police she last used the card last Friday at Dollar General.

Burglary: A city police officer on patrol noticed a back door to the Century 21 building at 330 Shirls Ave. was kicked in. Owners were notified, and no items were reported missing.

Theft from vehicle: Ruth Paraska reported her backpack containing school notes was stolen from her vehicle, which was parked in the 500 block of Donnan Avenue.
