A California University of Pennsylvania student was arrested Wednesday afternoon by university police on charges of indecently assaulting a student in her dormitory room.

Cameron Valon Hall, 23, of East McKeesport, was arrested on charges of indecent assault, open lewdness, harassment and disorderly conduct.

The woman, who police said was visibly upset, said she was walking back to her dormitory room from Steele Hall following theater and dance class when she felt a tap on her shoulder and a person said her shoe was untied. As she tied her shoe, she started talking with the man, later identified as Hall, whom she knew as “Cameron.”

Hall reportedly asked if he could go to her room with her and she agreed. When she got to her room, she went to the bathroom to change out of her dance clothes.

Hall reportedly asked if he could touch her. She thought he was joking but Hall told her he was serious, police said. She told him that she had to go to the library so he would leave, but he reportedly started fondling her. She told him again that she needed to go and he left.

She tried to contact her community advisor, who was not in her room. Hall then returned for his glasses and cellphone. After he left, she went to Steele Hall to report the incident and Hall was found in his dormitory room.

He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. Jail records also indicate he is wanted on out-of-county bench warrants. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 24 before District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
