WAYNESBURG – Greene County commissioners Thursday voted to issue certificates of recognition to the Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s Distinguished Service Award winners.

Those to be recognized will be the Rev. Donald P. Wilson, individual award; Patriots Dream Riding Association, organization winners; and Ed and Sandy Zeglan, special award winners.

The commissioners accepted a proposal from Community Bank for the county’s $2 million tax anticipation note. Community Bank’s officer was a fixed rate of 1.25 percent.

As expected, the Greene County commissioners approved a no-tax increase 2015 general fund budget.

The $19 million spending package is $1.34 million more than the one passed for this year. The budget includes the projected impact fee payment of $2.5 million in July, while the 2014 budget contained about $3.6 million from the Act 13 funds.

Millage will remain at 7.535 with 6.77 mills going to the general fund; 0.695 mills to pay for bond issues; and 0.07 mills going to the library system.

In other business, the commissioners:

• Reappointed Shelly Brown, Nancy Davis and John McNay to the Southwest Corner Workforce Investment board of directors;

• Reappointed James Cowen and Archie Trader to the Conservation District’s board of directors;

• And approved $3,000 grants to 16 fire departments and approved a $5,195 change order for the new T-hangar at the county.
