TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) – Authorities are investigating the death of a 17-year-old boy who they say was found shot along a sidewalk in northwest Ohio.

Toledo police said authorities discovered Carter Coley at about 8:45 p.m. Friday, and he later died at a local medical center.

Police say they are treating Coley’s death as a homicide and that another 17-year-old boy has been arrested after he turned himself in Saturday.

Toledo Public Schools spokeswoman Patty Mazur tells The Blade newspaper that Carter attended Woodward High School and was on the football team.

A message was left with the Lucas County Coroner’s office.
