WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty last week before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman:
William F. Forsythe, 22, of 505 First St., Smithfield; offense – possession of drug paraphernalia; on July 4, 2011, Forsythe was in possession of a pipe used for smoking marijuana when police arrested him following a domestic dispute; he was originally entered in the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program, but his participation in the program was revoked; sentence – 1 year of probation, 25 hours of community service, no fine imposed.
David Allen Lowry, 47, of 501 Stewartstown Road, Pt. Marion; offense – pleaded no contest to unsworn falsification to authorities; on Feb. 13, Lowry made false statements on state and federal forms when attempting to buy a firearm at Dry Tavern Service; Lowry failed to include on the forms a previous arrest for theft; sentence – 1 year of probation, 25 hours of community service, $500 fine.
Kenneth James Axton, 50, of 2800 Main St., Beallsville; offense – unsworn falsification to authorities; on Feb. 10, Axton made false statements on state and federal forms when attempting to buy a firearm at Dry Tavern Service; Axton failed to include on the forms previous arrests for simple assault and DUI; sentence – 1 year of probation, no fine or community service imposed.
Miesha Renee Bell, 23, of 114 First St., Bentleyville; offenses – possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia; on May 15, 2013, Bell was in possession of a plastic bags of pills and a syringe when probation officers visited a home in Rices Landing to check on another defendant; sentence – 3 days to 9 months in jail, credit for three days served; $300 fine; 75 hours of community service.
John Thomas Walker, 44, of 356 Dewey Ave., Nemacolin; offenses – driving under the influence of a alcohol and six summary violations; arrested April 18, Walker refused a blood-alcohol test; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail; $1,325 in fines; 125 hours of community service.
Robert A. Fike, 52, of 648 E. Greene St., Waynesburg; offense – unsworn falsification to authorities; on March 14, Fike made false statements on state and federal forms when attempting to buy a firearm at Wal-Mart; Fike failed to include on the forms a previous arrest for burglary; sentence – 1 year of probation, no fine or community service imposed.
