FRANKLIN, Pa. (AP) — A former western Pennsylvania probation officer is on trial on charges he solicited sexual favors from women who failed drug urine tests while he supervised them.

Forty-year-old Marc Taylor’s trial was continuing Tuesday in Venango County Common Pleas Court.

The Knox man was arrested last year on charges including rape, bribery and institutional sexual assault.

Deputy Attorney General Laura Ditka told a jury on Monday that Taylor abused the woman he supervised and abused his power.

But defense attorney Blair Hindman says the alleged victims are criminals who can’t be believed. He acknowledges that Taylor may have made in appropriate comments to the women, saying, “We are not here to put angel wings on Marc Taylor.” But the defense says that doesn’t mean Taylor sexually abused the women.
