One injured: Joan Blasinsky, 55, of Bridgeville, was injured Sunday morning when her sport utility vehicle slid on an icy overpass on Interstate 79 south in Amwell Township and rolled onto its side, state police said. She was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
Vehicle hit: Paula Doerr, 62, of Elkins, W.Va., escaped injury Monday morning when a wheel came off a northbound trailer on Interstate 79 in Amwell, crossed the median and hit her southbound vehicle. State police identified the driver of the tractor-trailer as David Dreyer, 48, of Natrona.
House burglarized: Charles Busang of Blaine Avenue told Canonsburg police early Tuesday three guns were stolen from his home. Stolen were a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson pistol, 12-gauge shotgun and .22-caliber rifle. There were pry marks on the front door and a window.
Truck overturns: A Fredericktown man escaped injury when his truck overturned early Saturday on Route 88 near Ridge Road in Low Hill, state police said. Matthew S. Maund, 37, was driving south when his truck went into a field, hit a tree and overturned at 3:25 a.m.
Window damaged: Coleen Pollock, Peterson Street, Cross Creek, told state police Sunday vandals broke a kitchen window in her home.
Cocaine charge: Gary E. Beighle, 44, of 661 Cleveland Road, North Franklin, was charged Tuesday with possession of a controlled substance after state police said they found cocaine in the car he was riding in during a traffic stop in the 1200 block of West Chestnut Street June 1.
Tools stolen: Darin P. Millington, Valley View Road, Nottingham, told state police Sunday tools and equipment were stolen from storage sheds on his property.
Rubbish dumped: Joseph Valentino, Donaldson Road, Robinson, told McDonald police Sunday piles of garbage, shingles and insulation were dumped on property to the west of his residence.
Manager charged: John A. Fraser Jr., 38, of 157 Firwood Drive, South Fayette, was charged by South Strabane police with false reports to police, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds and theft. He is accused of stealing $8,332 by failing to deposit the money while working as manager at Applebee’s, Trinity Point. When confronted in October by the district manager, Fraser reportedly claimed the money was stolen from his vehicle. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft arrest: Zachary E. Matey, 21, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Monday by South Strabane police after he allegedly stole two iPad cases and an iPhone case from Walmart, Trinity Point. The items were valued at $168. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson on a charge of retail theft and placed in Washington County jail on $2,500 bond.
Wallet stolen: Aimee Erickson of Washington told South Strabane police Monday her Fossil wallet was stolen from her purse while she was at Walmart, Trinity Point.
Drug arrest at barracks: State police charged a woman with possession of drug paraphernalia after troopers said she overdosed on heroin and was brought to the barracks at 83 Murtland Ave., Washington, Oct. 16. Police said Crystal Ross, 30, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, had in her possession a hypodermic needle, two stamp bags of heroin and 35 empty stamp bags when a friend brought her to the barracks.
Woman assaulted: Joshua Barfield, 31, of 1030 Allison Ave., was charged with simple assault after city police said he punched his girlfriend inside her home at 147 Brookside Ave. shortly after midnight Tuesday.
Car vandalized: A car parked in the 100 block of Grove Avenue in Washington was vandalized with orange spray paint early Monday morning, city police said.
Drug charges: Alisha E. Yarbrough, 19, of 665 Baird Ave., Washington, was charged with marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Canton Avenue and Ewing Street, state police said.
