JEFFERSON – Jefferson-Morgan School District again evacuated its schools Tuesday and Wednesday because of bomb threats.

Each of those days, students were removed from the buildings for about an hour and a half because of threats originating in the elementary school, elementary Principal Sam Silbaugh said.

In each case, state police responded and determined the building was safe before students were returned to the classrooms, he said. Silbaugh declined to comment on the nature of the threats.

The district had six bomb threats since Oct. 15.

The last three – last Friday and Tuesday and Wednesday – originated in the elementary school. The three earlier threats, Oct. 15 and 30 and Nov. 6, were in the middle-senior high and came in the form of writing on a bathroom stall or in a note left in the restrooms.
