Man indicted on gun charge

A former Charleroi man was indicted by a federal grand jury for possessing a firearm after he was previously convicted of a crime.

William Garry Snowden, 47, formerly of Camway Lane, was indicted after he was found possessing a firearm around Oct. 29. Snowden was previously convicted of aggravated assault and kidnapping. Federal law prohibits an individual who was convicted of a felony from possessing a firearm.

Snowden faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both.
