Waynesburg state police will conduct a free child restraint checkup event from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Carmichaels/Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department, 420 W. George St., Carmichaels.

Parents wanting to to have child restraints checked for recalls and to learn how to properly secure child seats are encouraged to participate.

Certified child restraint technicians from the state police will be available to assist. There are no free child safety seats available at this time.

State police also will be participating in the Click It or Ticket campaign through Nov. 30.

Enforcement efforts will include additional troopers patrolling the roads, aggressive enforcement of occupant restraints and child safety seat violations.
