A brief burst of freezing rain caused a spate of vehicle accidents around Washington County starting at about 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
A dispatcher with Washington County 911 said accidents were scattered throughout the county, though there were no injuries in any of the mishaps.
The number of crashes started to subside about 12:45 p.m. as the rain drifted out of the area and temperatures crept into the 40s.
A dispatcher at the Waynesburg barracks of Pennsylvania State Police said there were few, if any, accidents in Greene County as a result of freezing rain.
