CHICAGO (AP) – Chicago fire officials said one person died and another was injured after a shooting in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.

Police and fire officials said they received a report of a shooting around 8:30 p.m. and found two people shot in the first block of East Grand Avenue.

Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva told the Chicago Sun-Times a woman there was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a man was found dead at the scene.

Chicago Police spokesman Thomas Sweeney said police are investigating. He did not immediately have further details

The newspaper reported that crime scene tape was set up around a Nordstrom in that block and police officers could be seen entering and leaving the store near the city’s downtown.
