Bentleyville man dies in crash

A Bentleyville man died in a one-vehicle crash Friday evening in West Pike Run Township.

Daniel G. Mraz, 46, of Huber Road, was killed in the accident on California Drive, near Woodland Drive, shortly before 8 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:50 p.m. by Washington County Deputy Coroner Tim Kegel. He ruled the death accidental and caused by blunt force trauma.

According to state police in Belle Vernon, who responded, the victim was alone and traveling west on California Drive when he lost control on a curve, left the roadway and struck a utility pole and a tree.

The Bentleyville and Richeyville fire departments responded along with Fort Cherry Ambulance Service.

State police in Belle Vernon are investigating.
