ELVERSON (AP) – Authorities said extreme hoarding conditions and a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives were discovered inside a southeastern Pennsylvania home after a fire there killed two residents.

Pennsylvania State Police identified the victims Sunday as 64-year-old A. Katherine Schade and 67-year-old Gary Robert Schade, WGAL-TV reported. Authorities said they were found dead inside their one-story, ranch-style home after firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Authorities said the fire appeared to be accidental in nature, although they hadn’t pinpointed a precise cause.

Deputy Chief Jason Brooks of the Twin Valley Fire Department said extreme hoarding conditions created challenges and prolonged firefighting efforts.

Brooks says debris removal efforts also uncovered weapons, ammunition and explosives.
