Santa theft: A plastic antique Santa Claus was stolen from the front yard of a residence between 8 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday state police said. No address was given.

Criminal mischief: Obscenities and racial slurs were sprayed in black paint on several cars and a concrete bridge wall on Wabash Street, Campbell Street and Avella Road, state police said. Anyone with information about the incident, which occurred between 8 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday, should call the barracks at 724-223-5200.

Multiple charges: John Moore, 39, of Clarksville, was in Greene County jail after allegedly firing a .22 rifle into a house early Sunday morning state police in Waynesburg said. Jessica Johnston, Ladonna Lingenfield and seven juveniles ages 1 to 16 were in the residence in the Teagarden Homes plan during the incident, which occurred shortly after midnight. Moore faces nine counts each of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person, and one count each of discharge of a firearm in an occupied structure, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. He was held on $25,000 bail.

Theft: State police are withholding the name of a business that was robbed Saturday to avoid a possible repeat. Police said a white man – described as 25 to 35 years old, skinny and with long sandy hair – entered, ordered food and sat near the cash register for about an hour. Police said he subsequently requested food to go, and when it was ready and the clerks were away from the register, he reached over the counter and took about $1,000 in large bills from the register. They said he walked outside and into a maroon Chrysler minivan with out-of-state plates and tinted windows. The driver, described as a black male with a larger build, bolted toward Interstate 70. Anyone with information, call Trooper Lewis at 724-223-5200.
