Cash stolen: Money was reported stolen Saturday from a bank envelope at Taylorstown American Legion Post, 84 Main St., Blaine, state police said.
Four charged: Four people were charged by California police stemming from an assault Saturday night at a party at 547 Second St. Zachary Anthony Bopp, 21, of Pittsburgh, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for allegedly assaulting a person after Bopp and his friends were denied admission to a party. Charged with disorderly conduct were Corey Bopp, 18, of Pittsburgh; Luke Hrapchak, 19, of Fairmont, W.Va.; and Robert Noble, 21, of Murrysville. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
DUI crash: Joseph Yunkun, 26, of 38-B Orchard Lane in Carroll, is charged by township police in a summons filed Monday with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a one-vehicle accident about 6:50 p.m. Aug. 24 on Route 136 east, court records show. Yunkun allegedly had a blood-alcohol content of 0.130 percent two hours after he lost control on his car on a curve, and it burst into flames, police stated in the affidavit. He suffered minor injuries.
Theft: Thomas Taraba of 206 Railroad St., McDonald, reported at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday about $10,000 in items were stolen from his residence over the summer, township police said. Stolen were two snow plows, a generator, five to 10 squares of shingles, a welder, several tires and two wheelbarrows.
Tools, equipment stolen: Shawn C. Smith of 260 Maple Road, Cross Creek, told state police Monday his shed was entered. Stolen from the shed were a leaf blower, chain saw and a toolbox containing tools. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
House burglarized: Robert Allen Jr. and Angel Schneider of 1298 Templeton Run Road, East Finley, told state police their home was burglarized between Thursday and Sunday. The culprit entered through a basement door. Stolen were a generator, cellphone booster, television and wooden jewelry box containing jewelry. The burglar also apparently left through the basement door.
Property damaged: Robert V. Glass, 25, of, Avella, was charged by state police with defiant trespass after he allegedly drove erratically on property owned by Range Resources on Narigon Run Road, Independence.
Road rage case: James L. Landis, 46, of 7326 Hutchinson Road, Forward Township, is charged by city police with reckless endangerment, making terroristic threats and harassment, court records state. Police accused him of pointing a 9mm handgun at another motorist about 4:50 p.m. April 29 at West Main and Fourth streets. He is free on $5,000 bond after being arrested Monday on a bench warrant and arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson.
Driver charged: Anthony S. Barton, 24, of 164 Taylor St., Monongahela, was charged Monday by state police stemming from a Sept. 6 crash on Main Street (Route 50), Mt. Pleasant. State police charged him with leaving the scene, failure to render aid, failure to notify police, not having insurance, careless driving and reckless driving. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
One injured: One person was injured in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on Morganza Road at Southpointe Boulevard Tuesday night. North Strabane police said a vehicle driven by Mallory E. Otis, 30, of 119 Crestview Drive, McMurray, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Victoria Simpson, 25, of 213 Joseph Drive, Canonsburg, pushing her vehicle into one driven by Kelvin Parnell, 51, of 2 Savannah Way, Canonsburg. Simpson and Parnell were stopped in the southbound lane at a traffic light. Simpson refused treatment at the scene.
Man jailed: Joshua D. Fuller, 24, of 59 Mobile Road, Washington, was released Tuesday from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond on a retail theft charge. Peters Township police said Fuller attemped to shoplift cough syrup and cold medicine from CVS drugstore, 3870 Washington Road. Fuller was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis.
Throwing rocks: Peters Township police charged a 16-year-old boy from Tyrone, Blair County, with disorderly conduct Sunday after he threw rocks from the Montour Trail Bridge down to heavily traveled East McMurray Road.
Drill theft: A man used the ruse of bringing two bags, including a lawn mower bag he said he was trying to replace, into Miller Hardware Store, 4275 Washington Road, McMurray, at 2:50 p.m. Sunday. As he was carrying the mower bag around the store, he used another bag to conceal a DeWalt drill that he stole, Peters Township police said.
Theft charge: Brittany Ellis, 28, of 300 Sunset Boulevard, South Strabane, will be charged by township police with theft after she allegedly stole six checks from her father, Keith Ellis, and wrote them to acquaintances for a total of $1,350.
Man accused of punching roommate: Richard Simmons, 45, of 217 E. Maiden St., Washington, was cited for harassment after he allegedly punched his roommate twice in their apartment about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, city police said.
