The state Department of Transportation announced the tentative work plan for the week beginning Monday. Maintenance activities are conducted weather-permitting.
Jerry Simkovic, Greene County maintenance manager, urges all motorists to drive with caution through work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.
The tentative schedule is as follows:
• Culvert pipe reconstruction is being conducted on Route 1021, Crucible Road, in Cumberland Township.
• Open grid deck repairs will begin on Route 2003, at Crawford Field in Waynesburg.
• Slide repair and side dozing activities are scheduled for Route 3011, Hargus Creek Road, and Route 3014, Bluff Ridge Road.
• Crack sealing continues on Route 19 from Mt. Morris to Kirby.
• Shoulder cutting and grading will be conducted on Interstate 79, in Waynesburg, Kirby and Ruff Creek.
• Washout repairs are scheduled for Route 18 and Route 21 in Center and Morris townships.
• Base repairs and bridge cleaning activities are scheduled for Route 18, Franklin, Washington, Morris, Freeport and Jackson townships.
• Shoulder grading and cutting activities are to begin on Interstate 79 on the ramps in Kirby, Waynesburg and Ruff Creek. Joint sealing is scheduled for Interstate 79 from Waynesburg to Ruff Creek.
• Ditch cleaning activities are scheduled for Route 88, from Carmichaels to Millsboro.
• Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and concerns addressed on various state roads throughout the county.
SCI-Greene will conduct roadside litter pick up operations from the Route 18/21 split north of Rogersville to West Virginia line. Please drive carefully when encountering this moving operation.
