PORTERSVILLE (AP) – Authorities say a woman trying to retrieve a camera she had dropped died in a fall at a state park in Western Pennsylvania.

Officials at McConnells Mill State Park in Lawrence County said the 58-year-old woman was with family members taking pictures of fall foliage on Wednesday evening.

Park manager Dustin Drew said she dropped the camera while standing on Breakneck Bridge, which spans Cheeseman Run.

Drew said the woman was trying to climb along a rocky ledge to reach the camera when she fell about 20 feet at about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

A rope rescue team and paramedics were called, but Drew said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released.
