Funeral held for state trooper accidentally shot

PHILADELPHIA – Colleagues are remembering a Pennsylvania state trooper accidentally killed in a firearms training exercise last week as a man who loved his job and enjoyed coming to work every day.
Funeral services for 26-year-old David Kedra were held Monday in northeast Philadelphia. Hundreds of law enforcement officers lined the streets and bagpipes played as Kedra’s flag-draped casket was carried into Christ the King Church.
Officials said the trooper was shot in the chest Tuesday after another trooper’s gun accidentally discharged.
The 2010 Temple University graduate joined state police in June 2012 and was assigned to the Skippack barracks in Montgomery County.
Kedra was the second trooper shot to death last month. Cpl. Bryon Dickson was killed in a Sept. 12 ambush outside the Blooming Grove barracks. Another trooper was wounded.
