WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Waynesburg Borough will hold its seventh annual Halloween Spooktacular and Downtown Merchant Costume Contest Oct. 31.

Those planning to do a costume are asked to stop on the courthouse steps between 8 and 9 a.m. to be judged. Awards will be presented and photographs taken at noon and pictures will be posted on the chamber’s and borough’s Facebook pages.

In case of rain, the location will be moved to the borough office next to the police station.

Cash prizes will be given for scariest, prettiest, funniest, best group and best overall costume. Most original will be judges’ choice with a cash prize. Those participating must be employed within then borough or your company must be a chamber member.

Community Bank, Direct Results/Greener Saver, First Federal Savings and Loan of Greene County, Laick Design, Mark IV Office Supplies, Rhodes and Hammers Printing, Sheriff Brian Tennant and Waynesburg Gold Coin Electronics Inc. are sponsors .

St. Ann Catholic Church bake sale will be set up on the courthouse steps.
