Canton man arrested over alleged gun threats

A Canton Township man was arrested early Friday on charges he threatened to kill a woman while also waving a handgun in the direction of two young children in his residence.

Christopher D. Foringer, 34, of 213 Bench Ave., was charged by state police with making terroristic threats, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of children and disorderly conduct in connection with the 3:45 a.m. incident in his mobile home, court records state.

Jessie Jo Foringer accused him of pointing a .357-caliber handgun at her head and saying, “I’m gonna teach you a lesson,” police stated in the affidavit. Christopher Foringer also allegedly waved the weapon in the direction of children ages 2 and 9.

He is in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
